I haven't read any of Caroline Fyffe books that I have not love, she has a way of bring the West alive, you just wish you could turn the clock back and live in another time. You fall in love with her characters and wish they could be part of your family. The men are to die for, it would be a pleasure to have one of your own. I can never decide which one is my all time favorite I love them all. The ladies are just ladies, so sweet and kind. They are strong women who believe in standing and supporting them selves but always have room for the right man.You have some wonderful characters here with each having lesson they must learn in life before they can go on to be the person they want to be. Luck who is wonderful, truly any women would be happy to fall for this half breed. He has to overcome his past and how he feels about his self before he can truly understand and make a life with Faith. He is a caring, loving family man who is waiting for the right women. Trust is a big issue with him and when Faith won't give him that he is ready to walk away. His mother has a few things to tell him that might just change how he thinks and bring him closer to the man he wants to be.Faith has a past and she is on the run, her past is about to catch up with her in the worse way. Pregnant and along expect for her son, scared and not knowing which way to turn. Luke comes running up on his horse to safe the day. She agrees to go with him thinking if she stays with him for a little she has a better chance to out run the man chasing her. You luck runs out now she is in a tug of war of what to do. What is the best for her children and will she have to give in and marry her brother-in-law and live a life of hell again.I truly enjoy each of Luke's family members each play a wonderful big part in this story. The cowhands were darlings as well as the adorable children. This story as most of Caroline does have lessons to remind us what is truly important in life. She gives love the true meaning and brings a compelling tale to all her stories. We get busy in today's world that we sometimes forget. Caroline always makes me remember why I fell for my husband, why he is my true hero in so many ways. She reminds me what is important and I give a little more TLC to my family.If you have not tried any of Caroline Fyffe books you really should. Her audio's are outstanding. One book or audio you will be hooked on the whole series.
I loved this book! It has a terrific plot, well written characters, and a good mix of angst, suspense, and humor.The two main characters, Faith and Luke, are one of the best couples I have read in a long time. Faith is a strong and courageous young woman, determined to find a new life for herself and her two young children. I like her personality very much. She is not written as a perfect person, and there are times when I wanted to shake her, for not telling Luke the truth about her past.However, her experiences and her fear make her very human, and vulnerable.Luke has his own struggle with the truth of his heritage, but I love the fact that he does not let that define him. He faces his own reality head on, and is determined to be his own man. He is not weak, or sappy, or too alpha male, either.This book is very clean, and that is wonderful to read. I appreciate not having to dodge an assault of vulgar language and explicit sex. Too many authors use those very things to fill in a very weak or repetitive plot, and that gets tiresome.There is also a good dose of humor in the story, which keeps it lighter and fun to read.I highly recommend this book!

A place where you worked hard with your hands and felt the gratification when your hard work paid off? I do almost everyday, which is why I love to read novels about Pioneers, the struggles they faced and the happiness they felt when their spirit allowed them to carve out their life in a foreign and empty land.Caroline Fyffe did a terrific job of capturing the Pioneer spirit in Montana Dawn. It takes an amazingly talented author to pick a reader up and then set them down in the 1800s. She did just that. From page one, I was captured and fascinated. Not once during the entire story did my attention wander or my interest flag. I truly can't say enough about how great this novel was!In Montana Dawn, Faith Brown is in a terrible situation. She is stuck in the wilderness, in a buggy with no horses and with her eight year old son, Colton. She is also about to give birth to a baby!! Luke McCutcheon is scouring the area looking for the rest of his riding party when he hears a strange sound. At first he thinks it may have been an injured animal but he immediately pushes that idea away. The noise sounds like no animal he's ever heard. Following the wails, he comes upon Faith's stranded buggy and decides to see if there may be someone in need of help. He has no idea of what he is about to walk into.This story is written wonderfully, I can't give it enough praise. Mrs. Fyffe is an exquisite story teller. Montana Dawn is packed with lovable characters...and some not so lovable ones also. Each character is well rounded and never seems fake, flat or boring.Another thing I loved about this novel was that Mrs. Fyffe wrote it wonderfully without one sex scene. It seems that we are bombarded with sex every where we turn. Sexual innuendo is present even in commercials for Liquid Plumber for goodness sake! Books, movies and billboards advertise sex to everyone, even children who see them when they go outside, turn on the TV or play a game.I am of the opinion(and it just MY opinion) that people need to focus more on developing a higher moral standard and creating solid family values, and less on sex.In Montana Dawn, the characters are driven by integrity and a strong moral compass, well everyone but the bad guys. Mrs. Fyffe takes her readers back to a time when a man's word and his handshake were his bond, where they stood up for what was right, where people worked hard and loved fiercely. Back to a time where marriage and family meant everything. I can't even describe how much I loved this book!At some point in the near future, I hope to have a Q&A with Mrs. Fyffe.
I enjoyed the story, but the main female character was such an idiot. Towards the end of the story she made me so mad, she was so brave and thought only of her childrens safety in the beginning. In the end she sets out to go back where she started from, with total disregard for her children. Maybe she suffered a brain freeze or surge of hormones, made no sense to me. Couldn't understand her thinking or lack thereof. I'm afraid to read any other books by this author.
